EL BARRIO RAÍCES SUMMER PROGRAM was a four-week program that offered theater arts training to children ages 7 to 10. Twenty-five participants had the opportunity to learn about several theatre disciplines, including acting, dance, make-up, ensemble work, and costume & set building. All classes were facilitated by our bilingual team of teaching artists with experience in the NY theater scene as well as invited artists from abroad. El Barrio Raíces Summer Program provided participants with an atmosphere where they strived, learned and developed their creativity through collaborative work while cultivating new friendships and relationships. Parents and members of the community had the opportunity of enjoying a final presentation at La Marqueta located in the heart of El Barrio.
