Season 2026-2027

El Barrio Raíces Summer Program 2026

El Barrio Raíces Summer Program is a three-week summer program that offers theatre training to children between the ages of 9 and 12. The program is free of charge and open to all residents of NYC. This year’s program will focus on community empowerment and strengthening family traditions, encouraging students to explore their heritage through the performing arts. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about all disciplines of theatre, including acting, dance, make-up, ensemble work, costumes, and sets. Our bilingual team of teaching artists will facilitate all classes.

De Novela

Viene, Viene el Drag King is the Spanish-language world premiere of Vico Ortiz’s first solo show, Rise of a King. In this whimsical, burlesque, and gender-bending journey, Vico revisits their childhood through astrology, drag, and storytelling to untether—and reconnect—with themselves in a heartfelt, hilarious, and magical exploration of how they came to rise as a king.

When: July 2-5, 2026

To Be Announced

Each year, Boundless Theatre produces a fully-staged professional production off-off-Broadway as part of our NYC Mainstage program. This program always features Latinx playwrights, and contributes to our mission by allowing us to create high-quality, designer-led theater that speaks to our community.  Previous NYC Mainstage productions include Mud by María Irene Fornes, the NYC premiere of Fur by Migdalia Cruz, and the East Coast premiere of Prospect by Octavio Solis.  As one of our artistic exchange activities, our NYC Mainstage also brings Puerto Rico-based artists to NYC as collaborators on the creative team for each production.

Chronicle of a Death Foretold

Boundless Theatre will celebrate our 12h production of Chronicle of a Death Foretold. Our magnificent adaptation of Gabriel García Marquez’s classic novel is being presented as part of our educational performance program in Puerto Rico, which has served more than 100,000 students over the past 12 years. As part of the program, teachers leading student groups will receive an educational guide to facilitate classroom discussion of the play. If you are interested in this or future productions of Chronicle of a Death Foretold, please write to us at info@boundlesstheatre.org.

Boundless Exposed 2027

Boundless Exposed is a workshop and mentoring opportunity for theatre designers of color. During this twelve-week program, participating designers will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced mentors in shaping an installation-style design based on a short play inspired by their research and ideas. The program is open to theatre designers of color in the tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT).

Boundless de Oro

Boundless continues the collaboration with the Fundación Yolanda Laprea in bringing free acting, dance and singing classes to the older adult community. Just like the past two years, this year we will be creating a short film written and directed by Marcelo Rodriguez, where everyone involved, from the artistic team to the behind the camera crew, will be older adults from the City of New York. This program is filmed in Sunnyside, Queens and it’s streamed via YouTube and our social media channels.

When: October 2026 and March 2027
