El Barrio Raíces Summer Program 2017

“EL BARRIO RAÍCES SUMMER PROGRAM was a four-week program that offered theater arts training to children ages 7 to 10. Twenty-five participants had the opportunity to learn about several theatre disciplines, including acting, dance, make-up, ensemble work, and costume & set building. All classes were facilitated by our bilingual team of teaching artists with experience in the NY theater scene as well as invited artists from abroad. El Barrio Raíces Summer Program provided participants with an atmosphere where they strived, learned and developed their creativity through collaborative work while cultivating new friendships and relationships.

*This program was established in 2015 by the initiative and support of La Marqueta Retoña and the office of Melissa Mark-Viverito.

This program was produced in collaboration with Producciones El Barrio, La Marqueta Retoña, Hispanic Federation, and the Office of the New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito.
